Paper model for a hanging semitransparent glass work. 2024, Kupru Gallery, Finland.

This is the first model of a commissioned hanging semitransparent sculpture developed at Kupru Galleria as part of Fotis’s residency in Fiskars, Finland. The actual work will be entirely of glass and enlarged in scale.

The sculpture consists of fourteen flat forms that vary in shape and size. They are hanging freely from the ceiling and move with the breeze. Eight of these forms are arranged in pairs intersecting vertically with each other.

The open-ended title draws analogies with the physical world and with massless or non-tangible materialities. It is supposed to act poetically or, rather, as a starting point for the viewers who are welcome to bring their own responses to the work.
