Enjoying Space 2

Enjoying Space 2 is a handcrafted hanging mobile that consists of eighteen colored wooden pieces. The work is inspired by the decorative arabesques (rhythmic linear patterns and flowing forms) used in several traditions from Art Nouveau to Islamic Art. The title refers to a dynamic, playful relationship between the work and the space it is installed. Color, rotational movement, curved contours and flatness of surfaces are all central in the design of this mobile. The present version was formed over a period of six months.
